So I have browsed the internets and finally found a great looking icon!

I have also made some slight changes to the UI but I will not release a new version until I have the database being preserved.

So I skipped a number……. beta.12 was just not enough to bother releasing as it was mostly UI tweaks. Changes since .11:

• Dynamic column width based on screen res(hey Microsoft, make this easier!!!)
• new awesome settings page with registry settings for warnings
• new gas types
• bug fixes in SQL statements

The next version will most likely be Beta .20, which will have a logo, and possibly the ability to delete a row instead of nuking the whole table. I also need to work on the database not being removed.

What do I need from you? FEEDBACK! Please let me know what I can do to make this app better!

Here is the latest iteration of GasMate.  I have made some slight UI tweaks and have started on the maintenance part.  Right now the values are hard-coded but I will eventually have a settings page which will allow the user to set the intervals for maintenance warnings.  I have set the flags in the CAB but it still is not respecting this.

The next step as I have said will be a settings page, and I will need to learn how to use the registry for that…..shouldn’t be too hard.

Please download and test this and let me know if there are any bugs, or anything that should be added such as other maintenance or gas types etc….

I finished up a new version of GasMate that will now track maintenance. I am still working on getting the cab to work right with not removing everything, so until then, you must back up your sdf file if you dont want to loose anything. Keep in mind that the database HAS changed however, so you should just uninstall and reinstall this version. I do not see significant changes to the database from here on.

Please help me find bugs and suggest changes/features!

Before I grab dinner I thought I would throw up a new version.

NOTE: THE DB HAS CHANGED. OLD DATA WILL BE LOST.

I added some new fields…..let me know if this looks like enough. I also need ideas as to what to track in the maintenance section.

I have made some slight tweaks to the UI along with adding a maintenance tab which I will have to work on tonight. I need a new table in the DB so this might take a little time to get to work.  The tweaks to the UI should help make it work better on SQUARE screened devices.

Unfortunately I think that because I made some changes to the CAB, it will not uninstall the older version. If you wish to keep your data, you must copy the SDF file out of the directory, uninstall, reinstall .02, then copy the SDF back in.

After posting it on ppcgeeks, shaggylive had some suggestions I plan on implementing:

• A more finger friendly ODO reading, not sure how to do this quite yet since the first reading must be manually selected. Possibly asking for a first reading, then just having +/- 100/50/25/10/5/1 buttons….who knows
• Fuel Type and prices
• Car Maintenance(oil changes, air filters)
• Import/Export

Alright everyone…….the first Alpha build is available.

This is VERY alpha. And ugly. What I mean by this is that it probably wont mess anything up, but it is alpha and might have bugs. Do not rely on this. I need to learn more stuff about cab installers to make sure the DB is not removed when a new version is installed.

What is GasMate you ask? GasMate is a Windows Mobile application written in C# that uses a SqlCe database to track your gas mileage.  Every time you fill up, enter in a new ODO reading, and it will be automatically calculated.
